The Big Texas Steak Ranch Prime Rib

Ingredienser

1/4 cup garlic powder

1/4 cup black pepper

1/4 cup seasoning salt

4 pounds boneless prime rib, washed and patted dry

Vejledning

Preheat the oven to 300°F.

Combine the garlic powder, pepper, and seasoning salt in a small bowl.

Rub the mixture all over the prime rib.

Place the meat fat side up in a roasting pan.

Roast uncovered for 3 to 3.5 hours, until teh internal temperature measured with an instant read thermometer registers 120°F for medium rare, 130°F for medium, or 140°F for medium well.

Let the roast rest for 10 to 15 minutes before carving.

Dolly says: "At the Big Texas in Amarillo, if you can eat a 72-ounce steak, you get your meal for free. Of course, that's if you also eat a shrimp cocktail, dinner salad, baked potato, and a buttered roll. And you have to eat it all in one hour! My Daddy would tell you that I could do it easily, because he always swore my leg was hollow. I've never tried to win a free steak, but I do love the prime rib at the Ranch."
