Pigs in a Blanket (Chicago Inspired)

1 egg

1 Tbsp water

1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed and cut into long triangles, see directions below*)

12 oz mini all beef hot dogs

12 oz sport peppers (drained and patted dry with paper towels**)

Celery seed (for sprinkling)

Poppy seeds (for sprinkling)

¼ cup dijon mustard

3 Tbsp mayo

2 Tbsp sweet relish

Anweisungen

Preheat oven to 425 F. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper.

Whisk egg and water together until homogeneous for an egg wash. Set aside.

Place a hot dog and a sport pepper at the base of a triangle of dough. Roll up snugly but not super super tight.***

Place on the prepared sheet tray seam side down. Repeat with all the dough.

Egg wash the pastry of each and sprinkle with a touch of celery salt (the celery salt is strong!) and poppyseeds.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden. It's possible that the sport pepper can kinda pop out a little from the pastry as it bakes, but not to worry! Just pop them back in place right when they come out of the oven.

While they bake, prepare the sauce. Mix everything for the sauce together in a small bowl until combined.

Serve hotdogs warm from the oven with the dipping sauce on the side.
