Sugar Cookies

Ingrédients

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 cup margarine or butter

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

2 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Frosting:

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Mix powdered sugar, margarine, egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Stir in flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Heat oven to 375°F. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with granulated sugar, if desired.

Bake until edges are light brown (7-8 minutes). Cool completely. If frosting, do not sprinkle with sugar before baking. Frost with powdered sugar frosting:

Frosting: Mix all ingredients together. Frost the cookies and let them cool completely.
