2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Beat egg whites until fluffy. In a saucepan, cook sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt until soft, semi-firm ball stage. Pour 1/4 of the sauce over egg whites, and cook the rest of the sauce until it reaches hard ball stage (260 degrees). Slowly pour the remaining sauce over egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating until it creams or loses its glossy appearance, then add vanilla and walnuts.
