Refrigerator Bran Muffins

4 cups All-Bran cereal
2 cups bran flakes cereal
1 cup shortening
2 cups boiling water
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
5 teaspoons baking soda
5 cups flour
1 quart buttermilk
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine All-Bran cereal, bran flakes, and shortening. Pour boiling water over the mixture. Add sugar, eggs (one at a time), salt, and baking soda. Mix well. Alternate adding flour and buttermilk in thirds, blending until well mixed. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks. To bake, bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
