Hurry-up Pepper Steak

1 1/2 lbs flank steak or sirloin steak
2 T oil
Dash pepper
1 1/4 c beef consommé or 1 1/4 c water + cube of beef bouillon
1/4 t garlic powder
1/4 t thyme
1 large green pepper, sliced into 1” pieces
1 T flour or cornstarch
1/4 c water
Cooked rice
Instructions
Cut across the grain of the steak into 1/4” wide strips. In large fry pan, brown meat in oil on both sides. Add seasonings and consommé. Cover, simmer for 30 min or until meat is tender. Add green pepper and continue cooking 10 min until the pepper is crisp-tender. Combine flour and water in small bowl. Slowly stir into meat mixture until thickened to desired consistency. Serve with rice.
