Canned Apple Slices

1 gallon apples, sliced
2–3 cups sugar
Instructions
Slice apples to make one gallon. Add 2–3 cups sugar. Let stand for 24 hours. Pack into pint or quart jars, covering apples with their juice. Add additional water if not enough juice is produced. Process according to latest canning guidelines. Call extension service for information.
Notes
These are great for making pies in a hurry. Add brown sugar (about 1/3 cup) and 2–3 tablespoons flour to thicken. Also add 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon.
