My Favorite Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb hamburger
1 lb sausage (Kielbasa or Italian)
1 onion, diced
Oil, for frying
1 cup mushrooms, diced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 (28 oz) can tomato pieces and juice
1/2 can tomato paste
2 cups stock
2 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
Instructions
Fry onions in butter or oil with salt and pepper to taste. Add sausage and fry. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, and stock. Add seasonings and simmer for about 30 minutes, adjusting seasonings as desired.
Notes
Can use any combination of tomatoes or tomato products for a different texture and flavor. Recipe doubles well and freezes well.
