Spaghetti with Simple Red Sauce

28 oz can tomatoes (Crushed or whole peeled san marzano style. The quality of this determines the quality of your sauce)
5 tbsp butter
1 onion, halved and peeled
Instructions
Add all the ingredients to a wide pot and bring to a simmer. If you’re choosing to add any dried herbs, do it at the beginning. Once the butter has melted fully, simmer for 45 mins. Serve over spaghetti or whatever shape you desire, adding a small amount of the pasta water into the sauce to thin it out as needed. Top with cheese as desired.
