Toasted Pecan Clusters

3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 cups pecan pieces
12 ounces chocolate-flavored candy coating
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a 15- x 10-inch jellyroll pan. Spread pecans evenly in pan. Bake at 300°F for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
2. Place candy coating in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until coating melts. Cool 2 minutes; add pecans, and stir until coated.
3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Cool completely.
Yield: 4 dozen.
Microwave Directions:
1. Place butter in a 1-quart glass bowl; microwave at HIGH 50 seconds or until melted. Add pecans; toss to coat with butter. Spread on a glass plate. Microwave at HIGH 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring at 3-minute intervals.
2. Place candy coating in a 1-quart glass bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50% power) 2 to 3 minutes or until coating is softened; stir well.
3. Cool 2 minutes; add pecans, and stir until coated. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Cool completely.
Notes
Just a few yummy ingredients are needed for these clusters. The flavor far surpasses the time it’ll take you to make them.
