Caramel Popcorn

4 qt popcorn (preferably air-popped, no salt or butter)
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Put popped popcorn into a large pan. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, dark corn syrup, salt, and vanilla. Bring to a boil and let cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and pour over popcorn, stirring to coat each piece. Bake at 200 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes for 1 hour, until crisp.
