Taco Soup

1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
2 (14 oz) cans chili beans
2 (14 oz) cans green chilies, mild
2 (14 oz) cans tomato pieces or 2-3 cups ripe tomatoes, diced
1 medium onion, diced
Grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Lightly crushed corn chips (Fritos)
Sour cream
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey. Drain any excess fat.
2. Combine the browned meat with chili beans, green chilies, diced tomatoes, and onion in a large saucepan.
3. Heat mixture over medium heat until thoroughly warmed.
4. Serve in soup bowls topped with grated cheese, corn chips, and a dollop of sour cream.
Notes
If desired, serve with hot bread such as cornbread, Indian fry bread, scones, or muffins.
