Saffron Pillau

1 oz butter
1 cinnamon stick
10 oz chicken stock
1/3 tsp salt
1 lb rice
8 strands saffron
5 oz slivered almonds
4 bay leaves
Instructions
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add cinnamon stick, water, chicken stock, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Add rice, cook on low heat for 10 minutes. Add saffron, cook 10 more minutes until tender. Sprinkle with almonds.
