Easy Stroganoff with Meatballs

8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 can condensed French onion soup
20 small frozen meatballs (Kirkland brand)
1/2 cup cold water
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup sour cream or whipping cream
1/8 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
1. Sauté mushrooms in butter in a large pan. Add French onion soup and meatballs on top.
2. Mix 1/2 cup cold water with 1 tbsp cornstarch, pour over the top, and add thyme.
3. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for about 1/2 hour.
4. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream or whipping cream.
5. Serve over egg noodles.
*Originally, this called for sirloin steak. If using steak, cook separately and then add back to sauce to reheat before serving.*
Notes
Measurements are flexible, originally calls for sirloin steak instead of meatballs.
