Lorraine’s County Fair Barbeque

Ingrédients

5 lbs ground beef, browned

3 T lemon juice

2 T white vinegar

2/3 c water

3 1/3 c ketchup

1/3 c brown sugar

1/3 c onions

2 1/2 c celery, chopped

2 T yellow mustard

1 T salt

Instructions

  1. In large pot, brown beef, add onions and celery and cook until translucent

  2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer.

  3. Serve on hamburger buns with ruffles potato chips. Pairs well with Lorraine’s potato salad!

Notes

Hart family favorite. This is almost always a lunch meal with large family gatherings in the summer. Check out the photo of the recipe card. This recipe was intended to feed a large group of hungry Iowa farmers! I scaled it down by 1/3, but it can be cut in half again for a family of 4-6.
