How to Smoke a Turkey on a Traeger

1 brined, unstuffed turkey (no more than 14 pounds)
Instructions
1. Prepare the turkey brine according to chosen recipe instructions.
2. For a liquid brine, rinse and pat the turkey dry. For a dry brine, pat dry without rinsing.
3. Preheat the smoker to a low heat. Use the "smoke" setting around 150-160°F with wood pellets.
4. Place the turkey in the smoker, inserting a thermometer in the breast. Smoke at 150-160°F for 3-4 hours.
5. Increase the temperature to 225°F and continue to cook until the turkey breast reaches 150°F.
6. When turkey reaches 150°F, preheat the oven to 425°F.
7. At 155°F, transfer turkey to an oven-safe roasting pan and transfer to oven.
8. Roast at 425°F until the breast reaches 165°F.
9. Remove and let rest, loosely tented, for 20-30 minutes before slicing.
