8 ounces thin spaghetti (cooks quicker!)
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.6 ounces dry Italian dressing mix (I used a packet of Good Seasons)
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
Upute
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
2. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions.
3. While the pasta is cooking, add the butter and cream cheese to a skillet over medium heat. Whisk until well mixed and smooth.
4. Add the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian dressing mix to the skillet. Whisk until smooth.
5. Remove the skillet from heat.
6. Once the pasta is done, drain it, reserving about 1 cup of the hot pasta water.
7. Put the cream cheese sauce back on the stove over medium heat.
8. Add about 1/4 cup of the pasta water to the sauce, whisking until smooth.
9. Add some of the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix well.
10. Continue adding pasta and mixing until all the pasta is coated evenly with the sauce.
11. If the sauce seems clumpy or too thick, add a little more pasta water to help coat the spaghetti.
12. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes, additional Parmesan cheese, and parsley if desired.
13. Serve immediately and enjoy this creamy and delicious pasta dish!
