This Peanut Butter Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake Combines a Fu

1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

For the Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup creamy peanut butter

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Optional Topping:

1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped peanut butter cups

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a thick dough forms. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the base layer.

In a separate large bowl, beat the cream cheese and peanut butter together until smooth.

Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until fully combined.

Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until the filling is thick and creamy.

Pour the filling over the chocolate base and spread evenly with a spatula.

Sprinkle chocolate chips or chopped peanut butter cups over the top, if using.

Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Do not overbake; the center should remain gooey.

Let the cake cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
