1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1 pinch salt

1 1/2 cups milk

3 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, sugar, and salt. Pour in the milk and whisk until all lumps are gone.

2. Place the pan over medium heat and cook 5 to 7 minutes, stirring constantly, until the gravy just begins to boil and then thickens.

3. Once thick, remove from heat, stir in the butter and vanilla. Serve over hot biscuits, pound cake, or even ice cream!
