Pigs In A Blanket

12 beef hot dogs

1 large egg

1 Tbsp. water

1 (17.3-oz.) pkg. frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed but cold

All-purpose flour

2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard, plus more for serving

1 Tbsp. everything-bagel seasoning

Instructies

Prepare oven and pan: Preheat oven to 425°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Pierce hot dogs: Pat hot dogs dry using paper towels, and pierce each hot dog 3 times using a fork. Whisk together egg and water in a small bowl. Set aside.

Prepare puff pastry: Roll out 1 puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured work surface into a 12-inch square. Cut pastry in half lengthwise; cut each half crosswise into 3 equal pieces. Repeat procedure with second puff pastry sheet. (You will have a total of 12 pieces.)

Roll up hot dogs: Brush mustard crosswise down the center of each pastry piece; top each with 1 hot dog. Brush edges of pastry with egg mixture; roll up, and seal overlapping edges. Place seam side down on prepared baking sheets. Freeze until firm, about 30 minutes.

Cut into pieces: Cut each log crosswise into 4 equal pieces, trimming ends as needed. Brush tops with remaining egg mixture, and sprinkle evenly with seasoning.

Bake pigs in a blanket: Bake in preheated oven, 1 baking sheet at a time, until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. (Keep second baking sheet chilled until ready to bake.) Serve warm with additional mustard.
