Peach Cobbler (Southern Style)

8 peaches, peeled and sliced
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup flour
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, chilled and cubed
¼ water, boiling
Instructies
Preheat oven to 425°
Combine peaches, sugars, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and cornstarch. Pour into a baking dish and bake 10 minutes
Combine 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar and set aside.
Combine remaining dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut in the butter to a course meal texture. Add water and stir until just combined
Press the dough into the shape of the pan and cover peaches. Sprinkle topping with cinnamon and sugar mix. Bake 30 minutes until topping is golden brown
