Ingredients

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup light corn syrup

1/8 tsp salt

2 Tbsp butter

1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Line bottom and sides of 8x8x2 in baking pan with aluminum foil. Butter bottom foil. Heat milk,corn syrup and salt to boiling in heavy 1 1/2 quart sauce pan, stir constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until thermometer (can use meat thermometer) registers 238 degrees or firm ball stage in water. Stir in butter, vanilla. Immediately spread in pan, cool. Cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces, wrap in wax paper.
