1 cup scalded milk
2 cups warm water for yeast
2 T yeast
1 T salt
1/8 cup honey
1 egg
1/2 cup shortening
2 T sugar
3 cups warm water
12 -14 cups flour
Directions
Add the salt to the milk. Dissolve the yeast in the 2 cups of water. Cream sugar, shortening, honey, and eggs. Then add the 3 cups quite warm water. Gradually add the milk and yeast. Add flour, a few cups at a time (4 -5) and beat well. Add rest of flour, enough to make quite a stiff dough. Let rise and knead down. Let rise again. Make into loaves. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
