Eleanors' 3 Layer Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

1 cup butter

2 1/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 cup cocoa

1 cup warm coffee

2 cups flour

1 tsp salt

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

1 1/3 cups coffee

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Mix cocoa with 1 cup warm coffee and add to mixture. Combine dry ingredients separately, then add alternately with the remaining coffee. Divide into three 8- or 9-inch pans. Bake for 30 minutes.

Frost with favorite chocolate frosting:

- 1 box confectioners' sugar

- 1/4 lb butter

- 1/2 cup cocoa

- Enough milk to make a spreadable frosting.
