Mexican Charro Beans

Ingredients

1 onion chopped

1 red bell pepper chopped

1 1/2 lbs rinsed pinto beans

1 can tomato sauce (15oz)

1/2 Tbsp cumin

1/2 Tbsp oregano

1/4 cup red chili powder

2 bay leaves

Directions

Do sauté the onion and pepper 3-5 minutes (in instant pot if using)

If instant pot - fill with boiling water to the 1/2 fill line.

High pressure -35 minutes- can do quick release

Add salt and a little sugar to taste after finished.

Could also cook beans in water on stove top, then add other items and let cook till flavored together. (Do sauté the onion and pepper first)
