Sour Cream Twists

Ingredients

1/4 cup warm water

1 T yeast

3/4 cup lukewarm sour cream

3 T sugar

1/8 tsp. soda

1 tsp. salt

1 egg beaten

2 T shortening

3 cups flour

Directions

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add rest of ingredients as for rolls or bread. Turn dough Onto a floured board, roll and fold over several times. Roll into an oblong 24" x 6". Spread with 2 T. soft butter and on half of dough, sprinkle with mixture of 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Cut into strips 1" wide. Twist and place on baking sheet. Let rise hour & bake. Bake at 375 for 12 - 15 minutes.
