Ingredients

**CRUST**

2 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup butter

3 egg yolks ( beaten )

**FILLING**

4 medium apples ( Sliced ) = 4 cups apples

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

**BRUSH ON TOP**

3 egg whites ( slightly

beaten )

**TOPPING**

powdered sugar

milk

vanilla

Directions

PREHEAT: BAKE 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes. Cool and drizzle with thin powdered sugar icing.

1. CRUST: Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter until crumbs are the size of small peas. Stir in egg yolk. Divide mixture in half. Press 1/2 over bottom of 11 x 7 inch baking pan.

2. FILLING: Combine apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon; arrange over bottom crust. Crumble remaining dough over apples.

3. Brush egg white over the top.
