You will need:
7 pounds trimmed beef brisket
1 cup barbecue seasoning:
a mix of ( 3 tbsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper, 1 1/2 tbsp salt, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder) 1/2 tbsp black pepper,
barbecue sauce to served.
Directions
Line the pan with foil and parchment paper. Brush with canola or vegetable oil on both sides. Season the brisket liberally on both sides.
For this recipe I added 1 cup of seasoning mix. Iprovided the seasoning amount for 1/2 cup above.
Cover with parchment paper, foil paper and seal well. Leave it on the counter top for 1 hour to come room temperature. Place in a 285 degrees F oven for 5 1/2 -6 hours or until internal temp is at about 200 degrees F. Wait 1/2 an hour before you slice against the grain.
