total timeIngredients
-1 medim yellow onion
-4-5 medium russet potatoes
-1 beef keilbasa ring or 1 package of beef hot dogs sliced into rounds
-6 cloves garlic crushed and divided
-some olive oil and about 2-3 Tbsp butter
seasonings:
paprika
onion powder
salt
pepper
natures seasoning
Directions
1. Peel and chop potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes
2. Chop onion into smallish pieces
3. Set largest frying pan you have to medium high heat and swirl around one time in the bottom the natures seasoning bottle. Add onions and cook for about 1 minute. Add a small little bit of butter and keep cooking down for another minute or 2. Add about 2 cloves of garlic and keep cooking for another 30 seconds. Pull off heat and spoon into a side mixing bowl.
4. Dont add oil to pan! Take keilbasa and add to pan. I sprinkle a little onion powder and garlic powder on top. If you need it add a small pat of butter here to keep from sticking. Stir often until they are done to your level of crispiness. Remove from heat and add to onions bowl. Cover with tin foil to keep heat in.
5. Return pan to heat and add about a tbsp of olive oil, small swirl of natures seasoning and diced potatoes. The spices are subjective here. Ive never measured them so i would say about:
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp paprika
salt to taste
Cook your potatoes on medium high heat for a good amount of time, about 8 minutes or until just fork tender. In this time if they stick, keep adding a little butter at a time. Just a little. Try not to stir the potatoes too often, you want them to crisp on all sides. Add the rest of the garlic and continue cooking another minute.
6. When potatoes are almost done, add everything back into the same pan and mix well. Add the garlic powder here. About 1 tsp. Give everything a final taste and add whatever seasonings you need.
