8oz (half a box) Penne noodles
1/2lb mild Italian sausage
4 cloves of garlic (or to taste)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 8oz can of tomato sauce
1 15oz can petite diced tomatoes
2 tsp basil
2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp garlic salt
1 cup fiesta blend cheese
Directions
1. Start boiling a pot of water for the noodles. Once it is at a boil, add the noodles and let them boil for the time indicated on the package (mine say 9-11 minutes). Drain noodles and set them aside.
2. Brown Italian sausage on medium high heat and break it apart into small chunks.
3. Add garlic to pan and sear for about a minute.
4. Turn heat down to medium low and add the cans of tomato sauce and petite diced tomatoes.
5. Add brown sugar, basil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and garlic salt. I don’t measure it out, I usually just do it to taste.
6. Bring to a medium heat. Add noodles to the sauce once it is bubbling.
7. Add cheese and let it melt
8. Ready to serve
