Pickled Red Onions

Ingredients

  • 200g water

  • 100 g white wine vinegar

  • 50 g sugar

  • Thyme sprigs

  • Mustard seeds or fennel seeds

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and lightly crushed

Directions

  1. When preparing the vegetables, cut them to a size that is as uniform as possible for consistent pickling.

  2. Add the onion or other vegetables to the canning jar.

  3. Combine the water, vinegar, sugar, thyme, mustard seeds, and garlic in a saucepot and bring to a simmer.

  4. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the vegetables to submerge them, and seal the jar. Chill and store the jar in the refrigerator.

Notes

Perfect for one medium size red onion. Other veggies great for pickling
