Parippu Curry

Ingredients

½ cup Moong Dal (Yellow)

¼ tsp Turmeric Powder

¼ cup Grated Coconut

¼ tsp Cumin Seeds

1 Green Chilly

1 tsp Coconut Oil

½ tsp Mustard Seeds

1 Dry Red Chilly broken halves

1 stem Curry Leaves

6 Shallots sliced thin

2 cup + 2 tbsp Water

¾ tsp Salt

Directions

Dry roast moong dal till golden or until nice aroma rises.

Then wash it and transfer it to pressure cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistle along with turmeric powder, salt and 2 cup water.

Meanwhile grind grated coconut, cumin seeds, green chilly and 2 tbsp water to a fine paste.

Once dal is cooked mash it up and then boil for 2 minutes.

Add coconut paste and boil in low flame until raw smell of coconut paste leaves and then remove from heat.

In a small pan, heat coconut oil and add mustard seeds,curry leaves and red chilli to splutter.

Also add finely sliced small onion and fry till slightly browned.

Pour the fried mix on top of dal and give a good mix.

Parippu curry is ready to serve.
