Meatballs in Cherry Sauce

Cherry Sauce:
1 can or jar (1 lb.) pitted dark sweet cherries
1/4 cup orange juice
3 T. each brown sugar, vinegar and lemon juice
2 T. soy sauce
1/4 tsp. each Worcestershire and grated orange rind
1 T. cornstarch
Meat Balls:
1 lb. ground fresh pork
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 egg
2 T. minced onion
1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
2 T. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire
Directions
Sauce:
Drain cherries and put syrup in large saucepan. Add remaining ingredients for sauce and mix well. Cut cherries in half and add to mixture. Cook, stirring, until clear and slightly thick-
• Meat Balls: Prepare sauce and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients well
skillet without added fat. Drain well, add to sauce and simmer gently about 10 minutes. Serve hot with cocktail picks.

I tripled this for Tim's Oral Sur- gery Office Open House when he first opened his practice in Ypsi- lanti. We ran out.
