Red Chili

1 1/2 Ibs. ground chuck or round
2 medium onions
1 (28-oz) can whole tomatoes
1 (6-oz) can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 beef bouillon cube
1 (16-oz) can red kidney beans
2 T. diced green pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. chili powder or ground cumin
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper or to taste
1 bay leaf
Directions
Combine first two ingredients in Dutch oven or large sauce-
pan.
• Brown meat, drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients, stir to blend.
• Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips. It is also good with a glob or sour cream and grated cheese on top. Makes 6 (about 1 1/2 cups) servings.
