Saco Buttermilk Biscuits

**SIFT:
1 1/2 cups flour
3 Tbsp Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 Tbsp sugar
**CUT IN:
3 1/2 Tbsp vegetable shortening
**MIX IN:
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp water
**AFTER BAKING:
1 Tbsp butter, melted
Directions
PREHEAT: Bake to 400 degrees. Bake for 12 minutes or until biscuits are puffed and golden brown
1. Sift flour,Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into a bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is the texture of coarse meal.
2. Make a well in center of flour mixture and pour in water, mix lightly with a fork, just until dry ingredients are moistened and dough hold together.
3. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead lightly two or three times, then pat out to 1 inch thickness.
4. Cut in round with a floured biscuit cutter.
5. Place biscuits on an un greased cookie sheet.

Remove from oven and brush tops of biscuits with melted butter.
