total timeIngredients
1 mango, diced
1 avocado, diced
1/2 of a large red onion, diced
Handful of chopped cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
3 or so cranks of freshly ground black pepper
Salt to taste (optional - I don't normally do this)
Directions
- Start by dicing the red onion and adding it to a medium sized bowl.
- Add the diced mango and avocado next. Try to keep each small enough that you can reasonably fit multiple pieces of each on a single chip. Too small though and they start turning to mush when mixing and eating the salsa.
- Add the cilantro, juice of 1 lime, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently and serve with tortilla chips or directly on tacos!
Notes
1. If you want to make this really spicy, par boil some habaneros and red chiles until they are soft. Then transfer them, some of the water from the pot, and a splash of mango nectar to a blender with to make a puree of sorts that you can fold into the salsa. BE WARNED: par boiling the chiles indoors is what I imagine being teargassed is like, so make sure to have good ventilation.
