Kalua Pig In A Crock Pot

Ingredients

3 to 4 lbs. pork roast

Hawaiian salt (red)

2 Tbsp. liquid smoke

½ cup water

Directions

Place roast in a broiler pan and broil 15 - 20 minutes to remove excess fat. Cut deep slices into meat and rub in salt and then the liquid smoke. Put roast in crock pot and add water. Cook on low about 15 to 20 hours (overnight). When done, shred and serve. Can be frozen and served another day.

Notes

You could probably use kosher salt instead. Hawaiian red salt is just a red-colored coarse salt.
