1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze).
2 tablespoons milk (for glaze).
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze).
Directions
Dissolve Yeast
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm milk. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
Prepare Dough
Add flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and the remaining tablespoon of sugar. Knead until smooth. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
Cut Donuts
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or round cutter to cut out the donuts. Let them rise again for another 15-20 minutes.
Fry Donuts
Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep pan. Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown on each side. Drain on paper towels and let cool completely.
Make Filling
To make the filling: In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the strawberry jam gently.
Fill Donuts
Once the donuts are cool, make a small hole in the side of each donut. Pipe the strawberry cheesecake filling inside each donut.
Make Glaze
To make the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the filled donuts.
