Dirty Rice

1lb pork sausage
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1TBSP. chopped fresh parsley
1 green bell pepper chopped
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. ground red pepper
¼ tsp. ground black pepper
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 cup uncooked rice (white rice or brown rice)
1 14.5 oz. can beef broth
¾ cup water
Directions
How to make dirty rice:
1. Cook ground pork sausage ,garlic , onion celery, parsley and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink in large skillet.
2. Stir in salt, red pepper, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce – cook stirring often.
3.Add rice, broth, ¾ cup water, stirring well. Bring to a boil, cover reduce to medium high heat and simmer 25 minutes or until rice tender. Remove from the heat
Salt and pepper to taste. You can also add bay leaves to the mixture.
Notes
Serve with your favorite sides, like cornbread and a green vegetable!
