Ingredients

1 lb salted butter

1 c white sugar

1 lb walnuts, chopped

1 lb chocolate chips

Directions

Follow Instructions Exactly!

  1. Grease cookie sheets and set on hot pads, chop walnuts and spread on sheets.

  2. In a large, deep skillet melt butter and sugar over medium-high heat.

  3. Using a wooden spoon, stir continuously through four stages: Separate 1, Combine 1, Separate 2 (quick), Combine 2

  4. Remove from heat if you see smoke!

  5. Pour hot mixture over walnuts on baking sheets.

  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Wait for them to glisten and then spread melted chocolate in consistent layer over toffee.

  7. Let cool completely and then cut with large chef knife into desired pieces.
