Mile High Raspberry Pie

1 stick soft butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen raspber- ries
1 cup sugar
3 unbeaten egg whites at room temp
1 cup whipping cream
Directions
• Mix and spread first 4 ingredi- ents in and 8 inch square pan. Bake 400° or 15 minutes.
• Cool, crumble and press into pan
• Beat next 3 ingredients at high speed for 15 minutes. Fold in cream that has been whipped stiff. Pour in pie shell and freeze over night.
• It was with this recipe that I learned that egg whites must be beaten at room temperature with NO yolk or oil.
