For cooking
Ribeye steak, thinly sliced,
White onion, sliced, 1/2 pc
Ginger, diced, 1 tsp
For the sauce
Soy sauce, 1/4 cup
Mirin, 5 tbsp
Sake, 1/4 cup
Sugar, 1.5 tbsp
Water, 1/2 cup
Hondashi, 1/2 tsp
Anweisungen
For gyudon
In a bowl, mix together water, hondashi, sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and sake.
In a deep pan, add the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer until sugar is dissolved.
Add onions and ginger and cook until soft.
Add sliced beef and cook until browned.
Serve over sushi rice with an onsen egg and garnish with chives.
For onsen egg
In a small pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil.
Once boiling, add 1 cup of water and remove from heat.
Add eggs and cover for 15 minutes.
Afterwards, remove eggs and place in an ice bath.
