Pecan Pie
one 8 to 9 inch pie

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 tsp salt
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans
1 unbaked pie shell
Instructions
1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt in a saucepan and cook over low heat until syrup boils, stirring as it cooks.
2. Add hot syrup a little at a time to beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Cool, then add vanilla and pecans.
3. Pour into the unbaked pie shell.
4. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes; reduce temperature to 375°F and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
