Skillet Lasagna

- 1 Tbsp olive oil

- 1/2 lb. Italian Sausage

- 2 cloves garlic

- 24 oz. pasta sauce

- 1 cup water

- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

- 9 lasagna noodles

- 1 cup ricotta cheese

- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

- 1 cup shredded mozzarella

Upute

1. In a large deep skillet, heat olive oil and cook Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked.

2. Add minced garlic to the skillet with the sausage and sauté for an additional minute.

3. Pour in pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, and water. Stir to combine.

4. Break lasagna noodles into one to two-inch pieces and add them to the sauce in the skillet.

5. Cover the skillet, increase heat to medium-high, and bring the sauce to a boil.

6. Once boiling, stir briefly, cover, and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer the noodles in the sauce, stirring occasionally, until tender (about 15 minutes). Add more water if the sauce dries out before noodles are cooked.

7. While noodles cook, mix ricotta, Parmesan, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.

8. Once noodles are tender, spoon dollops of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.

9. Place the skillet under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese melts and browns slightly. Alternatively, keep the lid on the skillet and melt the cheese over medium-low heat.

10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious skillet lasagna!

For a vegetarian option, substitute beef for Italian sausage and use vegetable broth instead of water.
