Pizza Crust Dough

2 - 2.5 cups all purpose flour
1 Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp table salt
2 tsp olive oil, divided
1 cup hot water (in temperature range recommended on yeast packaging)
Petunjuk
In a large mixing bowl combine yeast, sugar, and the water. Let that sit until the yeast blooms fully, takes about 10 minutes
Add 1 tsp olive oil and 1 cup flour, mix until loosely combined
Add the salt and 1 more cup of flour, mix until well combined
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface (I use a wood cutting board) and knead, slowly adding flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking to hands and board. Continue this process until the dough stops wanting to be sticky. Then knead for 5-10 more minutes, until the dough gets a bit shiny (it just feels right at some point and I don’t really know how to describe it)
Coat the dough with the remaining 1 tsp olive oil
Place dough in a large mixing bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a warm, damp cloth and let it rise until at least doubled in bulk. The rise takes approximately 1 hour, depending on room temperature and the temperature of the bowl when you put the dough in
Toss or roll the dough and add toppings
Catatan
Makes one 16 inch crust of regular thickness
We sometimes roll this dough out and cut it into triangles or squares, put a small slit in the middle, and fry them in some kind of fat, i.e., tallow, lard, corn oil). Dip them in honey or sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar
