    Nanny’s Chocolate Cake

    2 c flour

    2 c sugar

    3/4-1 c cocoa

    1 t baking powder

    2 t baking soda

    2 eggs

    1 c milk

    1/2 c vegetable oil

    1 c hot coffee- strong

    Pinch of salt

    Elegant Frosting

    1 1/2 c sugar

    3/4 c evaporated milk (can use remaining can with water to make 1 c for cake batter)

    6 ounces Unsweetened bakers chocolate plus 2-3 oz dark choc

    1/2 c butter

    1 t vanilla

    1. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda.

    2. Add liquid ingredients and mix well.

    3. Pour into greased 9x13 pan (very liquid) Bake 30-35 min at 375°

    Elegant Frosting

    1. Combine sugar and milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Simmer 6 min without stirring. Remove from heat. Add chocolate, stir to blend. Stir in butter and vanilla. Let cool. When stiff, frost cake.
