    1 cup cornmeal (150 grams)

    1 cup all-purpose flour (130 grams)

    1/4 white sugar (50 grams)

    1 tablespoon baking powder

    1 teaspoon salt

    1 cup water or almond milk (235 milliliters)

    1 egg, beaten

    1/3 cup oil (80 milliliters)

    Instruções

    Preheat the oven to 400°F or 205°C.

    Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.

    Add water, egg, and oil. Mix until well incorporated.

    Using a baking spatula, pour into a 10 inch cast iron skillet or a 9 inch baking pan.

    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool before cutting.
