    Ingredients

    2 pkg. yeast softened in 1/2 cup warm water

    1 1/2 cups other liquid (potato water or scalded milk)

    3 T sugar

    1 T salt

    2 T melted shortening

    5-7 cups flour

    Directions

    Use only 1 large bowl. Put yeast in bowl with 1/2 cup warm water. Add the sugar, salt and melted shortening, then add cooled other liquid. Blend in 2-3 Cups flour and beat well. Add remaining flour until dough is not sticky. Let dough rest 20 minutes. Place in a greased bowl. Let rise I hour. Punch down, let rise 1/2 hour. Shape into loaves or buns. Let stand 20 minutes and bake. Bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes.
