Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

  • 500g Chicken thigh

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce

  • Salt & lack pepper,

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp corn starch

  • Potato starch

  • 140ml Chicken stock

  • 6 tbsp Light soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 3 tbsp Ketchup

  • 2 tbsp White vinegar

  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp Spebels Chilli Oil

  • Spring onions

  • 1tbsp corn starch +

  • 2 tbsp water

  • Roasted Sesame seeds

  • Spring Onions

Directions

  1. Marinate your chicken with 1 tbsp minced garlic, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, salt & black pepper to taste, 1 egg and 1 tbsp corn starch. Leave for 10 mins

  2. Coat your marinated chicken with potato starch and double fry till crispy

  3. For the sauce, mix together 140 ml of chicken stock, 6 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar or stevia, 3 tbsp ketchup, 2 tbsp white vinegar and 2 tbsp sesame oil

  4. Heat up a pan with 2 tbsp Spebels Chilli Oil and fry the white part of spring onions for 30 seconds before adding the sauce mix

  5. Once your sauce comes to a boil, add some corn starch slurry (1 tbsp corn starch + 2 tbsp water)

  6. When your sauce starts thickening, add your crispy fried chicken and sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds

  7. Garnish with spring onions and serve with hot rice
