Amish White Bread

2/3 cup white sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp yeast
2 cups warm water (110 degrees)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
6 cups bread flour
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Directions
In a large bowl: dissolve sugar in water then stir in the yeast. Let yeast sit until it forms a creamy foam. (@ 5 minutes)
Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour 1 cup at a time. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth.
Put in well oiled bowl and coat dough. Rise until doubled @ 1 hour.
Punch down dough, (directions say beat) knead for a few minutes and divide in half.
Shape into two loaves, place in well oiled 9x5 loaf pans.
Let rise 30 minutes or until it has grown an inch above the pan.
Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
Notes
Can substitute 1/3 c sugar and 2 Tbsp honey
